SAVE UP TO $180 A MONTH!!
If you currently clean your pool using a Pressure Side cleaner (i.e. Polaris®, Letro®, Phantom®, Viper®, etc.):
Due to the required increase in the running time of your pool’s main filtration system because of the restricted flow and circulation caused by your return fitting pressure-side cleaner or the increased energy consumption caused by your pressure-side cleaner with booster pump, you will enjoy the greatest energy savings of pool owners. By operating your Aqua Products cleaner anywhere from 6 to 8 hours per day, eliminating the use of the booster pump altogether and cutting down the running time of your main pool filter system to just 2 to 4 hours per day respectively, you may enjoy energy savings of more than $180.00 monthly! (up to $2,200.00 annually)

Today, Aqua Products distributes its robotic maintenance technologies for aquatic environments to more than 40 countries worldwide and has maintained its eco-efficiency focus and championing this effort to the global markets. In 2008 Aqua Products began spearheading an energy efficiency study with California’s Pacific Gas & Electric company (PG&E) to confirm Aqua Products’ own findings of the overwhelming energy efficiency experienced with its robotic cleaners in comparison to all other automatic cleaner methods on the market to date. PG&E anticipates releasing its residential cleaner energy efficiency findings early fall 2009. It is expected that PG&E will include a consumer rebate program to purchase these energy efficient products to help reduce the energy grid load consumption of its consumers.
WATER CONSERVATION
Every cleaner is equipped with an on-board industrial strength pump motor(s) that produces anywhere from 4,000 up to 10,000 gallons of water filtration per hour. This water forces the various water layers within the pool to circulate and mix. The result of this action is that the warmer top layer mixes with the cooler lower layer, which translates into lesser evaporation.
In short, our cleaners contribute to water supplies worldwide saving millions of gallons of water each year and to the consumers with drastic reductions on their water bills.
ENERGY EFFICIENT
Inefficiency of Traditional Pool Filtration Systems
It is estimated that up to 90% of the energy consumed by traditional pool filter systems is only for water movement and the remaining 10% is used for actual filtration. This horrible inefficiency is due to the great deal of energy required for the water to travel long distances both from the pool to the filter and back to the pool in addition to the manner in which it is returned to the pool to provide circulation.
Water is pulled in from either the main drain(s) and / or the skimmer(s) and must travel up to 100 ft. through piping twisting and turning to reach the pool pump / filtration system. Once filtered the water is then forced back through another series of piping up to 100 ft. long to reach various return points at the pool walls. These return points or “fittings” are purposely smaller than the width of the piping so that it creates high pressure return, much like the result of placing your thumb partially over the opening of a flowing garden hose. Like with the great distance and large amounts of energy it takes to pull and push the water, more energy is required to compensate for the backpressure created by the return fittings. Once through, the filtered water jets out high pressured filtered water to push and circulate the pool’s body of water to push it towards the main drain(s) and / or skimmer(s) to repeat this “turn over” process.
Inefficiency of Traditional Pool Cleaners
This traditional pool filtration system process typically takes about 8 hours each day to turn over the entire body of pool water. However, pool’s that are equipped with traditional “suction-side” pool cleaners (i.e. Kreepy Krauly®, Baracuda®, Navigator®, Pool Vac®, etc.)
and “pressure-side” cleaners that connect to the return points may require as much 2 to 4 hours additional pool filtration operating time (10 to 12 hours daily) in order to compensate for the reduced suction and / or circulation created by the suction and pressure-side cleaners. Traditional main pool filtration systems draw upwards of 16 to 18.5 amps of electricity running on 115 volts. Although, swimming pools equipped with the more common “pressure-side” pool cleaners that utilize an additional, separate pump motor, known as a “booster” pump, which operates in tandem with main pool filters as they pulls filtered water from the pool’s main filter to operate the pressure-side cleaner, can draw upwards of an additional 10 amps at 115 volts. These pressure-side cleaners
Great Efficiency of Aqua Products Cleaner / Filtration Systems
Aqua Products has taken the concept of the pool’s external pump / filter system and incorporated it into a system that is located in the pool. Mimicking the operation of a main pool filter, the Aqua Products cleaners vacuum in water, including dirt and debris, using their own internal vacuum pump, then filter the water via their own internal filtration system and finally expel the water providing circulation. In essence, Aqua Products cleaners are mobile filtration / circulation systems that also provide exceptional surface cleaning.
However, since the Aqua Products vacuum pump is situated just inches from the pool’s surface and its filtration system inches from the pump, it takes a mere fraction of energy (as little as 1/30th compared to traditional pool cleaners) to move the water (about 5% of total energy consumed), while about 95% of its energy is used for filtration and circulation flow. The mobile Aqua Products cleaners / filtration systems are capable of circulating up to 70 gallons per minute (GPM) for aboveground pool cleaner models and up to 85 GPM for in ground models, which is typically far greater than aboveground or in ground main pool filters are able to circulate respectively. The Aqua Products cleaner / filtration systems are also capable of filtering out particulates down to 2 microns in size, including sand, silt, algae and bacteria, which is as much as 10 times finer than what most main pool filters can filter.
The Aqua Products internal filter system is large, but does not have the holding capacity of a large external main pool filter. Nor do the Aqua Products systems currently provide skimming, which your pool’s main filter provides. However, the Aqua Products cleaner / filtration systems clean and circulate up to 10 times better than your pool’s main filter and as much as 30 times more efficiently than traditional pool cleaners. So although you may not completely stop using your main pool filter, in residential* swimming pools, you may run your Aqua Products cleaner anywhere from 6 to 8 hours each day and cut the running time of your main pool filter from your current 8 to 12 hours (or more) per day down to just 2 to 4 hours per day respectively. This can save residential Aqua Products customers as much as $2,000 or more annually in energy.
Additionally, since the powerful Aqua Products pumps circulate the warmer water from above to mix with the cooler water below and actually raise lower layer water temperatures providing a more uniform temperature throughout, Aqua Products cleaners may enable their owners to reduce pool heaters by several degrees to save more money on energy heating costs.
*Note: In most commericial instances due to local or national laws for their country, which mandate a specified number of operating hours for main commercial pool filtration systems, these facilities may not decrease the operating time of their main pool filter and pump.
FEWER CHEMICALS
Every cleaner is equipped with an on-board industrial strength pump motor(s) that produces anywhere from 4,000 up to 10,000 gallons of water filtration per hour. This water forces the various water layers within the pool to circulate and mix. The result of this action is that the chemically depleted warmer top layer mixes with the cooler chemically rich lower layer, which translates into lesser evaporation and savings of otherwise lost chemicals that bond to the water molecules.
Additionally, this mixing force re-circulates chemicals that have fallen due to gravity and have become suspended in the cooler lower layer. This circulation results in a more accurate water test near the surface and an overall more uniform chemical mix. This allows consumers to consume as much as 30% less chemicals, saving them a small fortune every season and offers bathers a much safer and healthier swimming environment since the amount of chemicals in the water is greatly reduced and better distributed. |
